Yet no one
Will take the time to

So she puts it into words on paper
Blank paper
Starts to fill with black ink
Line after line
Word after word
Space after space
She keeps writing
Hoping someone will
Find it and read her poetic words
So they finally will know
Why she just smiles
Instead of bursting into tears
Or why
She never looks people in the eyes
But no they'll never
Find it
Cause nobody wants to
No one will look
They would rather
Not worry about it
Than actually try to help
I'll smile before the tears
I'll look down before I look someone in the eyes
And I'll hope that you find this
Before I let my self know that
You never will
"Don't worry about me, i'm fine."

This touched a nerve for me. I'm a teacher and one of the absolute toughest things I can experience in the classroom is to be aware of students feeling this. It's so difficult to deal with that sense of isolation and misunderstanding without opening it up in front of the whole class. You've captured with words the expressions I see on faces far too often.
